Langford Speedway - Vintage Sprint Car Racing
Langford Speedway used to reside on the grounds of what is now Ruth King Elementary School on the corner of Jacklin Road and Goldstream Avenue in downtown Langford B.C. My grandfather Fred Barrett was involved as a sponsor with his Douglas Tire Service business while my dad, Mel Barrett, helped out with the push trucks and wreckers after he returned from serving our country in Europe during World War II.

Here you will find some pictures from what I believe to be the
1946 and 1947 seasons. I have little information, other than what is written on the photos themselves so feel free to contact me if you can provide information on anything you see in this album. These photos come from the Mel Barrett collection….Enjoy !
